Chevy vs. Ford: The Truck War is Back On
It’s common to see the Chevrolet Silverado and the Ford F-150 compared: they’re two of America’s most-loved trucks! And now the Chevy vs. Ford war is officially back on with the latest round of Chevrolet ads.
The Silverado is more than just a well-known competitor in the pickup segment—for some, it’s the top of the class. Chevy is doing its best to prove it by launching a new national ad campaign that pits the Chevy Silverado directly against the Ford F-150.
In the ad, the trucks sit next to each other and undergo a series of tests. A demonstration with cinder blocks shows just how tough the Silverado’s truck bed can be. While the F-150 suffered multiple puncture wounds from every brick dropped, the Silverado only incurred dents that wouldn’t affect the truck bed’s utility.
“Our focus is on showing that we put the customer first in everything we do. So it’s not an attack on Ford and it’s not an attack on aluminum,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director.
Chevrolet acknowledges that other trucks are plenty strong, but also emphasizes their new truck bed innovations that help make the Silverado even stronger. Check out the ad below and let us know what you think!
