Celebrating the Malibu 10-Millionth Milestone: A Favorite Since 1964
The Chevy Malibu is hitting milestones left and right. Now in its 51st year of production, this model recently reached the 10 million car milestone. Sold in over 25 markets across the world, the Malibu sedan is one of the most popular models ever built.
According to Chevy, the Malibu 10-millionth milestone comes as the ninth-generation model enters production, a model that has the latest in high-tech features, styling, and performance. Introduced in 1964, the Malibu has represented quality and comfort since it first appeared.
“The Chevy Malibu joins an exclusive club of vehicles that have achieved this extraordinary milestone and we acknowledge it today by honoring the common thread linking every one produced: The customer,” said Alan Batey, president of global Chevrolet. “It is a car that has resonated with customers for more than half a century.”
The new Malibu boasts some impressive features, the most amazing of which is the incredibly low fuel economy on the 2016 model. Capable of getting a GM-estimated 47 mpg combined, engineers pulled out all the stops when designing this new model. Plus, with features like MyLink, Apple CarPlay, and Teen Driver, the Malibu will surely remain a top sedan for years to come.
